Course Outline & Objectives

This course introduces the GX Works 2 Programming Software together with a system overview of the Mitsubishi MELSEC-Q Series PLC, which includes hardware & software components, plus system configuration issues. The course concentrates on the Mitsubishi MELSEC-Q Series PLC hardware, & troubleshooting.

GX Works 2 software diagnostic tools & programming instructions are introduced in the course to guide the delegate through the management of a realistic application.

The course consists of instructor-led tuition & discussions which focus heavily on examples from the delegates’ own applications, backed up by practical, first-hand sessions. Demonstration exercises are included & allow delegates to practice tasks such as testing, debugging & fault finding using diagnostic tools. Programming theory is kept to a minimum; the course is hands on with great emphasis on the practical aspects of a Programmable Logic Controller application.

• Managing program documentation (comments, statements)
• Configuration of communication for data exchange from PG Terminal to CPU
• Reading and writing data from/ to the CPU module
• Verifying program operation
• Software simulation of PLC hardware
• Force I/O on or off
• Monitor I/O watch tables & memory address status
• Perform maintenance & troubleshooting duties
