Course Outline & Objectives

This course provides an overview of the drive, including its hardware & software components, as well as system configuration and integration into a PLC system using Networks for communication. The course concentrates on the software, troubleshooting, diagnostic tools & programming instructions required to enable fast communications between the two hardware platforms. The delegate is guided through the management of a realistic application.

The course consists of instructor-led tuition & discussions which focus on examples from a workbook, backed up by practical hands-on sessions. Demonstration exercises are included & allow delegates to practice tasks such as testing, debugging & fault finding using diagnostic tools. The course is hands-on with great emphasis on the practical aspects of Drives and the configuration software.

Brief Description

  • Identify the components & performance characteristics of the Drive
  • Configure the drive, including the cabling & wiring of I/O
  • Configure and connect the drive to the PLC over Profinet
  • Operate the Drive using the relevant software to make it perform certain tasks.
  • Perform system diagnostics when a problem occurs.
  • Debug software issues
  • Document, test, & troubleshoot an application program.
  • Replace hardware & modules when a fault occurs.
  • Understand basic configuration parameters & be able to make minor modifications.
  • Backup & restore the configuration when required.
